What is an autoexec in CS2?

An autoexec.cfg file in CS2 is a custom configuration file that automatically loads your personal settings every time the game starts. It allows you to store crosshair settings, viewmodel values, sensitivity, binds and other commands in one place.

Most players create an autoexec to keep their settings consistent across updates, PCs or after reinstalling the game. Instead of manually adjusting everything again, the autoexec loads your preferred crosshair, sensitivity and binds automatically every time CS2 launches.

How to use the CS2 Autoexec Generator

Use the generator above to adjust your crosshair, HUD, radar, audio and key binds. Once you are satisfied, click "Generate autoexec.cfg" and download the file.

  1. Download the generated autoexec.cfg
  2. Place it inside your CS2 cfg folder
  3. Add +exec autoexec.cfg to your launch options

If you want a ready-made setup, check our CS2 practice config or browse the full CS2 1v1 command list.

Where to put autoexec.cfg in CS2

By default, the config folder is located at:

Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\cfg

Why use an autoexec?

Using an autoexec ensures your settings remain consistent even after updates or reinstalling the game. Many competitive players use an autoexec to maintain optimal performance and consistency.
